The Revd Nadim Nassar was invited to lead the prayers at this year's UN Peacekeepers Day ceremony at the Cenotaph in Central London on 25 May 2016.
The UK Branch of the United Nations Association and UNA-Westminster organised a memorial ceremony at the Cenotaph on 25 May 2016 to mark the International Day of UN Peacekeepers. Diplomats from 98 countries joined Baroness Anelay of St John's, Minister of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, Air Vice Marshall Brecht, Chief of Staff (Capability), Royal Air Force, as well as UN veterans, former UN civil servants and representatives of civil society to lay wreaths in memory of the 3,466 peacekeepers who have lost their lives for the cause of peace.
The Revd Nadim Nassar said that "This was a great honour, both for me and the Awareness Foundation. Our ministry is one of peacebuilding through education, and we must never forget those who have paid the ultimate price to bring peace to a troubled world."
